Chiron is a small icy body, discovered in 1977, whose stretched orbit carries it from just inside Saturn’s path out to Uranus’s. It is named after the centaur Chiron of Greek myth, a healer and teacher who could cure others but never his own wound, and astrologers read its meaning from that story.
